Poetry Afternoon with Mahnaz Badihian

Join to celebrate the National Poetry Month with Iranian/American poet, painter, translator, and educator Mahnaz Badihian and learn about Persian Poetry, Rumi, Hafez and more! You will also get a chance to enjoy the classical Iranian music performed on traditional instruments by Sirvan Manhoobi.

Mahnaz Badihian is most noted for her use of poetry to bridge the gap between Western and Eastern cultures. She has published more than 10 books of Poetry and translation in Farsi and English. Mahnaz has an MA in Sociology and an MFA in poetry. She is Editor-in-Chief of MahMag.org, the first online Persian literary magazine. Mahnaz is an active member of San Francisco’s literary scene. She has published more than ten books of poetry and translations. Her latest work is a novel called Azizam. She is a member of the Poets of Planet and the Revolutionary Poets’ Brigade.
