Smaran Dance Festival is a vibrant cultural celebration that highlights the rich traditions of Indian classical dance while creating a bridge to the wider community. Now in its 9th year, the festival has become a Bay Area tradition where audiences discover the diversity of Indian dance forms and the artistry of both established performers and emerging youth.
The 2025 program features:
Emerging Talent: Solo performances by highly trained Bay Area youth across five different classical dance styles from India.
Community Recognition: The Smaran Awards, honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to the arts.
Grand Finale: A large-scale production choreographed by renowned artist Ganesh Vasudeva, weaving music, rhythm, and visual storytelling into a universal artistic experience.
This event is open to all and designed to be accessible to audiences from every cultural background. Whether familiar with Indian traditions or not, attendees will enjoy an afternoon of live performance, cultural diversity, and community celebration.
